Personal Post | Summer update

this post is super random and maybe a little bit weird. you may or may not find this funny. here we go... 

our families have grown up around lakes our whole life. Jessy lives on a lake, we went to lake shasta every year growing up, and we now go on a family trip to lake powell every year. naturally, from a young age, this induced a fear of all the things we know aren't real and/or impossible scenarios. ie: the locness monster, whales that swallow you like jonah, evil dolphins, alligators, etc. 

this also carried over into the pool life: 
i thought that evil sea creatures came out of the pool filters when you swam by yourself. 
tracy thought that there was a secret tank of dolphins that her dad had hidden under her above ground pool. 
jessy thought that there was a shark that only came out of the deep end at night. 

if we are the only ones to admit that we were scared of swimming by ourselves when we were little, you are all liars. 

carrying on... i always thought that i would be the ONE girl in the world that would be attacked by something in a family friendly lake. when jessy pushed me into the swampish part of canyon lake tonight, i felt that fear for just a moment. or a few moments. 

"lets go to the lake and take pictures with sparklers" she said. 
"it will be fun" she said. 

not fun. but funny to look at pictures of. 

ANYWAYS! the real reason we wanted to do a personal post is just to tell everyone that follows our blog a bit about our summer. 
over the next six weeks... Jessy will go to summer camp as a junior high staff leader for our church, go on our lake powell trip for 2 weeks, and shoot a few weddings with tracy. 
And I (lissy) will head to Albania next thursday with a team from our church to teach english camps for a week, and then stay for 5 weeks after that to visit with my sister, her husband and my ADORABLE NIECE who now live there. so unless either of us are able to post, goodbye for 6 weeks and happy 4th!
